The Community Resource Portal can be used to ask questions and request assistance/services such as food and more. You can also call the 311 Critical Information Line at 311 or 352-264-6557 to have a trained operator steer you to resources, verify and distinguish between accurate information and rumors, and report a violation.

FREE FOOD AND OTHER RESOURCES

The Pantry offers free food (fresh and non-perishable) and toiletries to anyone with a Gator 1 ID card. They also aim to protect the privacy of their guests. Due to COVID-19, you can submit an online order form and schedule to pick up food or pick up a pre-made bag of food.

The Gainesville Free Grocery Store is a mutual aid project hosted by the Civic Media Center. Its mission is to provide healthy and accessible food to our community and to support food justice in the greater Gainesville area. They are delivering free food, see Facebook page for details.

HealthStreet is an innovative community-engagement program that aims to reduce health and research disparities by linking community members to social and medical services and opportunities to participate in research that is relevant to them. Every Wednesday from 1-4 pm they have drive-up hours for items such as food, clothing, toiletries, and Naloxone. 

Their mission is to serve as a safety net and to enhance the health and productivity of low income Alachua County residents by providing information and referrals, access to health services, and short term financial assistance. FREE PET FOOD

The mission of the St. Francis Pet Care Clinic is to provide free veterinary care to the pets of low-income people and offer owners free consultation about their animals’ medical care. See their Facebook page for how they are distributing free pet food during COVID-19.
