Spring 2021 Leadership Class

Interested in learning about mental health, self-care, and community outreach? Then the Sources of Strength course may be for you! Sources of Strength is a mental health program that promotes resiliency and is supported by evidence-based research. This national program has been adapted to a 1-2 credit class and is a UF student organization. Both are open to (and encourage) students from all majors and backgrounds.

This class will take place in Spring 2021 on Tuesdays from 5:10-7:05 pm. As a Student Leader in this class, you will learn about the prevention science behind Sources of Strength, and about eight core protective factors (family support, positive friends, mentors, healthy activities, generosity, spirituality, mental health, and medical access). With this knowledge, you will promote these protective factors on campus and create ground-up prevention efforts.

If you are interested in signing up for the class, fill out a brief interest form at the link below. If you have any questions, email the Graduate Student Coordinator, America El Sheikh, at americaelsheikh@ufl.edu.
