UF and Gainesville Groups

The Black Student Union was founded to serve as a home away from home for all Black students. It strives to create, cultivate, and challenge the University of Florida and Gainesville community. Check out their Instagram and Twitter for information such as virtual events and how to join.

The UF Chapter of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all UF students & to eliminate racial discrimination. They are hosting general body meeting the 2nd Monday of every month. For more information check out their Instagram page.

A healing and research collective at UF exploring and promoting the liberation of Black, brown, trans, and queer folks. For more information, go to their Facebook and Instagram pages.

An initiative for academics to honor the toll of racial trauma on Black people, resist anti-Blackness and white supremacy, & facilitate accountability. Black Affairs provides educational, cultural, social, and leadership development opportunities to support the success of Black students at the University of Florida. Check out their Instagram for information about virtual events, check-ins and more.

The African Student Union, have founded this organization to support and unite African students and to promote awareness of African issues and culture to all students and the Gainesville community. For more information, check out their Instagram.

The Gainesville Chapter of the Dream Defenders seeks to create real, positive change in our community by organizing a new generation of creatively skilled young leaders who strategically confront institutions of oppression through building collective power, raising the consciousness of all people, and operating with the genuine desire for justice and equality for all.
